Tea Cup Exchange Extravaganza

Saturday we hosted our first teacup exchange. Five lovely ladies showed up with teacups in hand, and one sweetie brought us lemon bars to enjoy as well. The teacups were a variety, floral, bavarian, roses, blue floral, and pink and white roses. First we enjoyed a sampling of teas. The ladies chose from a selection of black teas and herbals, and enjoyed white tea, vanilla rooibos, the winter zest blend, mango tea, strawberry, vanilla black tea and organic jasmine. We also enjoyed apricot and cream cheese scones made by local bakery, the Baker's Stone. After refreshment, we drew numbers for the teacup exchange. We agreed on the rules that you could choose a cup from the table, or 'steal' from someone else. While a few times ladies mentioned that they liked a cup someone had already selected, they didn't want to 'steal' from her, so picked a new cup. Everyone went home with a new cup to enjoy and said they wanted to come back for future tea parties. One lucky lady won the door prize and had a teamug, raspberry tea and a 'chicken soup' book with inspirational stories. We talked about ideas for a sweetheart's tea, a mother-daughter tea, and more teacup exchanges! I went home with a new pink and white rose tea cup and saucer and with the warm feeling that the day had gone very, very well.
